Whitehurst, Sr., on the subject of <br />delinquent real estate taxes for the tax year ending June 30, <br />1987. Also attached is an analysis of the reported tax <br />delinquencies prepared by the Department of Finance. <br /> <br /> Collection procedures on the reported delinquencies has <br />been initiated. Historically, such procedures h~ve resulted in <br />the collection of about 99.8% of the total tax levy with the <br />remaining .2% to be satisfied through court action and, if <br />necessary, sale of property to recover taxes. When collected, <br />a penalty of 10% and interest of 10% Der annum for the first <br />year and at the then current percentage rate established for <br />delinquent Federal Income Taxes thereafter, are imposed on the <br />tax bill. <br /> <br /> A copy of the entire list is available in the City Clerk's <br />Office for inspection and a copy will be placed at the main <br />branch of the Public Library for review by interested citizens. <br /> As required by City Code this report is being submitted to <br /> nformatlon. <br /> you for your review and i ' " <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the <br /> report be received as information, as was adopted by unanimous <br /> vote. <br /> <br /> 87-484 - Letter from the City Manager submittin~ -a report <br /> pertaining to retirement systems. <br /> <br /> <br />
