December 19, 1987 At a special call meeting of the City Council, held on Saturday, December 19, 1987, there were present: Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., J. Robert Gray, L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, Gloria O. Webb, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. Vice Mayor Webb presided for the meeting. 87-542 - The following call for the meeting was read: "The City Council meeting previously scheduled for Friday, December 18, 1987, at 10:00 a.m. has been cancelled. Please attend a special call meeting of the City Council to be held on Sturday, December 19, 1987 an 9:00 a.m.in the Council Con- ference Room, 6th floor of City Hal Building, 801 Crawford Street, Portsmouth, Virginia, for the purpose of considering a mo~ion no go into an executive session to discuss a personnel matter and con- sultation with the City Attorney on legal matters. By order of the Vice Mayor." Motion of Pk. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, to go into executive session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to duscuss the following: 1. Consideration of apersonnel matter as permitted under subsection (a) (1); 2. Consultation with City Attorney pertaining no actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within the jurisdiction ~f the City Council as permitteJ under subsection (a) (6). On motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Council went into executive sessidn an 9:10 a.m. and returned to public~ession at 10:30~a.m. 87-543 Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by ~. Barnes, that a meeting be sen for 4:30 p.m. on Honday~ December 21, 1987, for the purpose of consideration of personnel matters and legal matters, an, was adopted by unanimous vote.
