159;3 At a called meeting of the City Council held on February 23, 1988, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, J,-Robert Gray, L. LOuise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson~ George L.~nbury, II, City Manager Steven Lieberman, City Attorney * Absent: Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., LaMar ~Williams ~.~ ~ 88-73 ~ The followin~ catl, for the meeting was read: !'Please attend a .called.~eting of the City Council to be held in the Council Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 4:30 p.m.s, Tuesday, February, 23, 1988, for th~ purpose of a public work session for a presentation by Dr. Huns'aker, and a report on the N~w,,Business Success Program,. In addition you may consider a motion to go into an executiw session. By order of the Mayor." 88-73 (a) A public work session was A .report on the New Business Success Program was given by Dr. James Howell from the Bank of Boston. Dr. Hunsaker briefed City Council on the proposed budget cut~ from the State. 88-73 (b) - Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Gray to go into Executive~ession .... in accordance with Section 2.1-344 the Code of Virginia to discuss the following: 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for public purposes as permitted u~der subsection Ia) (2); 2. Considertion of a personnel matter as permitted under subsection (a) (1); 3. Consultation with City, Attorney and. briefing by staff members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters w~thin the jurisdiction of the City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (6); 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 5. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (1).
