March 7, 1988 At a called meeting~of the City Council held on March 7, 1988, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., Robert Gray, L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, LaMar Williams George L. Hanbur¥, II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman~ City Attorney William H. Oast, III, Chairman, George K. Eberwine, Jr., McFalt Gourdine, John G. Hatcher, Jr., James J. Wayland, Jr. Danny Cruce, Executive Di~rector, Ralph W. Buxton, Attorney Absent: Rita S. Forrest 88-92 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a joint meeting of the City Council and the Commissioners of the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority., in the Conference Room, 6th floor of. City Hall, 801 Crawford.Street, at 5~00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 1988, for a dinner meeting. The me~ting will reconvene in the Council Conference Room at 6:00_p.m. after dinner. In addition, you may~consider a motion to go into an executive: session. By order of the Mayor." Motion of Mr. Gray and ssconded by Mr. Barnes, to go into an executive session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to discuss the following: 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for public purposes as permitted under subsection (a) ~2); 2. Consideration of a personnel subsection (a) (1); matter as permitted under 3. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within jurisdiction of the City Council as permitted under gubsection (a) (6~); 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted under subsection (a) (2); . ..5o- ~Consideration~o~ appointments by the City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (1).
