March 29, 1988 <br /> <br /> At a special meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, <br />March 29, 1988, there were present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gloria O. Webb, J. Robert Gray, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. <br />Corprew, Jr., L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, LaMar <br />Williams, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven <br />Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />88-135 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a special called meeting of the City Council <br />to be held in the City Council Chambers, 6th~floor of~City Hall, <br />801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 1988, to <br />consider a motion to go into an executive session for the purpose <br />of consultation with the City Attorney on legal aspects of the <br />Bide-A-Wee tract and discussion of personnel matters. <br /> <br /> The City Councit may consider taking formal action on <br />above in Public Session at the conclusion of the EXecutive <br />Session. <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas seconded by Mr. Gray, to go into an <br />executive session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code <br />of Virginia to discuss the following: <br /> <br /> 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for <br />public purposes as permitted under subsection(a) (2); <br /> <br /> 2. Consideration of a personnel matter as permitted under <br />subsection (a) (1); <br /> <br /> 3. Consultation with City Attorney pertaining to actual of <br />potential litigation~or other legal matters within the <br />jurisdiction of the uity Council as permitted under subsection (a) <br />(6). <br /> <br /> 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted <br />under subsection (a) (2)~ <br /> <br /> City Council reconvene in public session at 6:10 p.m. <br /> <br />88-136 - The following citizens spoke concerning the Bide-A-Wee <br />issue: <br /> <br />Gene Baldwin, 404 Tareyton Lane. <br />Steve Bristow, 4249 Morgate Lane. <br />Jim Wayland, 309 County Street, Suite 101. <br />Reverend Chester Moody, 283 Choate Street. <br />Harold Goodman, 1207 Nero Drive. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Barnes, to approve the <br />addendum to the lease agreement with Bide-A-Wee Golf Course and <br />was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb <br />Nays: Corprew, Williams <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned at 6:45 <br />APPROVED -~ <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
