Barnes, <br />E. G. Corprew, Jr., L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, <br />LaMar Will~ams, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, <br />Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />Absent: Mayor Gloria O. Webb <br /> <br />88-220 - The following letter was sent to Councilmembers: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a called meeting of the City Council to be <br />held at Riverfront Park, at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 1988, <br />for the purpose of attending the "Pause For The Pledge" Ceremony. <br /> <br /> For your information, you w~ll find attached a copy of the <br />planned agenda for the ceremony. Of special interest will be the <br />Band Concert by the Continental Army Band from Fort Monroe, <br />Virginia, at 6:15p.m., the Welcome by Vice Mayor J. Robert Gray <br />at 6:35 p.m., and the reading of '~I AM THE FLAG" by Dr. Van K. <br />Heely at 6:53 p.m. Also, please note that after the Pledge of <br />Allegiance, Council Members and staff will go directly to ~he <br />Council Chambers where the Regular Meeting will re-convene. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Council Members assembled in Riverfront Park, for the <br />"Pause For The Pledge" Ceremony. The roll was called. <br />Rev. David Garth, pastor of First Presbyterian Church offered <br />prayer. Councilman Simpson M.C.'d the Ceremony and Vice Mayor <br />Gray gave the Welcome.
