This resolution shall take effect from the date'of <br />its adoption." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Gray, Hawks, Webb <br />Nays: Corprew, Lucas, Simpson <br /> <br />- REPORTS FROM THE CITY _NLANAGER <br /> <br /> 89-10 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />of an ordinance to appropriate $105,000 from the Capital <br />Improvement Fund for street improvement to Churchland <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br /> "Funds were included in FY 88-89 of the 1988-93 Capital <br />Improvement Program for matching money on three road <br />improvement projects in the City which are to be completed by <br />the Virginia Department of Transportation. The three projects <br />are Churchland Boulevard, Cedar Lane and Turnpike Road. Our <br />financial responsibility on these projects is 5% of the total <br />cost. All three pro3ects are in the design stage at this time. <br /> <br /> An appropriatio~ of $35,000-(the amount allocated in the <br />Capital Improvement Program) is requested for each project,. <br />These funds are necessary at this time to pay the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation our share of the design costs <br />being incurred on the projects. The Director of Public Works <br />recommends appropriation of the ne6essary funds. <br /> <br /> Therefore, I recommend appropriation of $105,000 for the <br />three State pro3ects." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Hawks, the <br />following ordinance was approved on first reading, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $105,000 FROM T~E CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR STREET IMPROVMENTS TO CHURCHLAND <br />BOULEVARD, CEDAR LAND AND TURNPIKE ROAD." <br /> <br /> <br />
