<br />June 21. 2010 <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, June 21, 2010, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst <br />Sr., Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psi mas, Douglas L. Smith, <br />City Manager Kenneth L. Chandler, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />10 - 295 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />Economic Development Partners: <br /> <br />David Tynch, Greater Portsmouth Development Corporation (GPDC) <br />C. Destination Portsmouth Development Regulations - Paul Holt, Deputy City Manager <br /> <br />3. Committee Member's Update <br />. PRHA - Bill Kline I Kathy Warren <br />. GPDC - David Tynch <br />. EDA - C. W. "Luke" McCoy <br />. Planning Commission - James Ellis <br /> <br />10 - 297 - Motion by Ms. Psi mas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A) of the Code of Virginia, to <br />discuss or consider economic development matters being pursued by the City's <br />Department of Economic Development, pursuant to the following legal authorities: <br /> <br />subsection 3, the possible disposition of publicly held property where competition <br />or bargaining is involved; <br /> <br />subsection 5, a prospective business or industry which has not been previously <br />announced; and <br /> <br />subsection 7, specific legal matters requiring the advice of legal counsel and <br />staff. <br /> <br />The subject matter of the meeting is various economic development projects in <br />the southside and downtown areas of the City. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is to permit confidential discussion of status and <br />negotiating strategy. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br />
