Auqust 22, 2000 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, August 22, 2000, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Cameron C. Pitts, Sr., *P. <br />Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst <br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson. <br /> <br />00 - 204 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City CoUncil to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />August 22, 2000, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By oder of the Mayor." <br /> <br />00 - 205 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Mosquito Report <br />2. Six Year Plan Update <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider <br />the following: <br /> <br /> The acquisition of real property for a public purpose, where discussion in an <br />open meeting would adversely affect the City's bargaining position or negotiating <br />strategy, as permitted under Subsection A.3. The subject*prope~-y .is in the Victory <br />Boulevard 1-264 corridor of the City. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meetinc <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: . . <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />COuncilman P.
