<br />April 13. 2010 <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />10 - 178 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, to close nominations, and <br />the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> <br />Theresa Danaher to be appointed to fill a term ending December 31, 2012, replacing <br />Nathaniel Colby. <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10 - 179 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Ms. Psi mas wanted to bring some clarity to statements made by a previous speaker <br />regarding funding for the School Board. <br /> <br />'" Ms. Psimas reminded citizens and City Council of Paint Your Heart Out, Cause for <br />the Paws, and Power in the Park Race, events that are happening in the City and <br />asked that everyone come out to participate. <br /> <br />'" Mr. Moody asked that Management provide a plan to increase salaries for General <br />Wage Employees. <br /> <br />'" Mr. Smith asked that City Council adopt a resolution outlining their commitment to <br />General Wage Employees and retirees. <br /> <br />1 0 - 180 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by <br />citizens at the March 23, 2010 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />10 - 181 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Christopher Stearns, 1740 Matthews Terrace, voiced his concern with the proposed <br />City Center Project. <br /> <br />2. Kathleen Carlson, 116 Chowan Drive, voiced her concern with the increase in <br />pedestrian traffic along busy intersections within the City. <br /> <br />3. Steve Carroll, 3112 Riveredge Drive, voiced his concern with the increased flooding <br />in the Highland Biltmore community. <br /> <br />4. Luke McCoy, 3408 Canterbury Drive, thanked City Council for various <br />accompl ishments. <br /> <br />5. Deidre Boykins, 1112 Rutter Street, voiced her opposition to the increased <br />assessment of her home. <br /> <br />6. Ryan Greiner, 134 Columbia Street, voiced his opposition to the increased <br />assessment of his home. <br /> <br />7. Mary Hughes, 808 Bismark Myrick Street, voiced her opposition to the increased <br />assessment of her home. <br /> <br />8. Anne Pulley-Clay, 1317 Columbia Street, voiced her opposition to the increased <br />assessment of her home. <br />
