551 August 22, 1989 At a called meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, August 22, 1989, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor J. Robert Gray, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., James C. Hawks, *L. Louise Lucas J. ~erbert Simpson, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. 89-293 - The following call for the meetin§ was rea~: "Please attend a special called meeting of the City Council to be held in th~ City Council Chambers, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 1989, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition Session. you may consider a motion to go into an Executiv By order of the Mayor." The following items were discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Ambulance Franchise 2. Goals and Objectives 89-294 - Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to go into Executive Session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to discuss the following: 1. Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff members pertaining to legal matters involving negotiations with the Cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk as permitted under subsectior (A) (7); 2. Consideration of the acquisition and use of real property located in the Churchland area of the City or in adjacent cities for public purposes as permitted under subsection (A) (3); 3. Consideration of the acquisition and use of real property located in the City for the purpose of establishing a regional jail as permitted under subsection (A) (3); 4. Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff members pertaining to legal matters involving the construction of the Western Freeway as permitted under subsection (A) (7); 5. Consideration of the use of real property for public purposes and the disposition of publicly held property in the Truxtun area of the city as permitted under subsection (A) (3); 6. Consideration of a personnel matter involving the provision of legal services by the City Attorney as permitted under subsection (A) (1); 7. Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council as permitted under subsection (A) (1). 8. Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff members pertaining to litigation involving City Park as permitted under subsection (A) (7);
