Robert Gray, Jack P. <br />Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., James C. Hawks, *L. Louise Lucas <br />J. ~erbert Simpson, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, <br />Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />89-293 - The following call for the meetin§ was rea~: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a special called meeting of the City Council <br />to be held in th~ City Council Chambers, 6th floor of City Hall, <br />801 Crawford Street, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 1989, for <br />the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition <br />Session. <br /> <br />you may consider a motion <br /> <br />to go into an Executiv <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> The following items were discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Ambulance Franchise <br /> <br />2. Goals and Objectives <br /> <br />89-294 - Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to go <br />into Executive Session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the <br />Code of Virginia to discuss the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />members pertaining to legal matters involving negotiations with <br />the Cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk as permitted under subsectior <br />(A) (7); <br /> <br /> 2. Consideration of the acquisition and use of real <br />property located in the Churchland area of the City or in adjacent <br />cities for public purposes as permitted under subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> 3. Consideration of the acquisition and use of real <br />property located in the City for the purpose of establishing a <br />regional jail as permitted under subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> 4. Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />members pertaining to legal matters involving the construction of <br />the Western Freeway as permitted under subsection (A) (7); <br /> <br /> 5. Consideration of the use of real property for public <br />purposes and the disposition of publicly held property in the <br />Truxtun area of the city as permitted under subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> 6. Consideration of a personnel matter involving the <br />provision of legal services by the City Attorney as permitted <br />under subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> 7. Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City Council as permitted under subsection (A) (1). <br /> <br /> 8. Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />members pertaining to litigation involving City Park as permitted <br />under subsection (A) (7); <br /> <br /> <br />
