October 10~ 1989 <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Hawks, the <br />following items approved on first reading at the regular <br />meeting of September 26, 1989, were adopted on final reading, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />89-392 <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $15~216 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND TO PROVIDE THE CITY'S FIVE PER CENT <br />SHARE OF CONSTRUCTING THE WYATT DRIVE EXTENSION FROM <br />WILD DUCK LAND TO COAST GDARD BOULEVARD AND APPROVAL TO <br />SIGN THE NECESSARY AGREEMENT." <br /> <br />89-393 <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $14,300 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SECURITY GATES <br />FOR THE CITY TREASURER'S OFFICE AND TO AWARD THE CONTRACT <br />TO THE LOW BIDDER, MONTGOMERY DOOR." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Hawks, Lucas, Simpson, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 89-394 - The following ordinance approved on first reading <br />at the Regular Meeting of September 26, 1989 was taken up and <br />read: <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />following ordinance was adopted on final reading and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $19,600,600 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND AND $200,000 FROM THE PUBLIC UTILITY <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW <br />CHURCHLAND HIGH SCHOOL AND RELATED PROJECTS." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Gray, Hawks, Lucas, Simpson, Webb <br />Nays: Corprew <br /> <br />- REPORTS FROM THE CITY MANAGER - <br /> <br /> 89-408 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption of an ordinance closing a portion of Glasgow Street. <br /> <br /> "Robert F. Babb, Esquire, acting on behalf of Calvary <br />Baptist Church has made application to close a portion of <br />Glasgow Street. <br /> <br /> The viewers previously appointed by Council have <br />recommended approval of the application. The Planning <br />Commission concurs in this recommendation. <br /> <br /> I recommend adoption of the ordinance closing a pcrtion of <br />Glasgow Street as requested by the applicant." <br /> <br /> The following ordinance was adopted on first and final <br />reading and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF GLASGOW STREET" <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Hawks, Lucas, Simpson, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br />
