October 10, 1989 <br /> <br /> F) Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded <br />following ordinance was approved on first <br />unanimous vote: <br /> <br />by Mr. Hawks, the <br />reading, and by <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1,854,000 FROM~THE <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR THE 1990 COMMUNITY <br />DEVELQP~ENT PROGRAM." <br /> <br /> G) Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Hawks, <br />following ordinance was approved on first reading, and by <br />unanimous vote: <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $250,000 FROM THE <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE ACQUISITION OF <br />PROPERTY B¥~T~E PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND <br />HOUSING AUTRORITY." <br /> <br /> 89-410 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption of a motion to accept audits for the Portsmouth Port <br />and Industrial Commission and the Industrial Development <br />Authority of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> "The Certified Public Accounting firm of Frederick B. Hill <br />and Company conducted an audit for the Portsmouth Port and <br />Industrial Commission and the Industrial Development Authority <br />of the City of Portsmouth. A copy of these audits are attached <br />for your information." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, to accept <br />the audits for Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission and <br />the Industrial Development Authority as information and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 89-411 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption of a motion to accept funds in the amount of $49,515 <br />from Cox Cable of Hampton Roads to assist with continued <br />programming on our government access channel, and to transfer <br />such funds from the Grants Contingency Account. <br /> <br /> "Cox Cable of Hampton Roads, as part of their recently <br />negotiated franchise, agreed to pay the City of Portsmouth <br />$49,515 to assist the Public Information Office in purchasing <br />needed broadcast equipment. Channel 29, which is carried by <br />Cox Cable, is a means of public information, and the funds <br />awarded will assist with continued programming on our <br />government access channel. <br /> <br /> I recommend that the City accept these funds and that the <br />$49,515 be transferred from the Grants Contingency Account to <br />support the program." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Gray, to accept <br />funds in the amount of $49,515 from Cox Cable of Hampton Roads <br />to assist with continued programming on our government access <br />channel, and to transfer such funds from the Grants Contingency <br />Accountf as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 89-412 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption of a motion to transfer $10,600 from the Grants <br />Contingency Account to support the Coastal Resources Management <br />Program and requesting authorization to enter into the <br />necessary agreements. <br /> <br /> <br />
