<br />122 <br /> <br />January 12. 2010 <br /> <br />~ Mr. Smith informed citizens and City Council that the Hampton Roads Partnership <br />had drafted a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the region that is <br />being posted for a 30 day public comment at visionhamptonroads.com or hrp.org <br />and encouraged citizens to become informed and involved in this process. <br /> <br />10 - 21 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Bernadette Hogge, City Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern <br />presented by citizens at the December 8, 2009 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />. Doug Harvey, Director of Public Works, gave an update of the schedule the City <br />currently has to clean out ditches. <br /> <br />10 - 22 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Sheriff Watson, 701 Crawford Street, had concerns with regards to the Hampton <br />Roads Regional Jail and how it handles its finances. <br /> <br />2. Joe Wright, 1451 Welcome Road, voiced his concern with the change in code <br />inspector in his neighborhood and asked that the current inspector continue to <br />service his neighborhood. <br /> <br />3. Delores Knight, 33 Kennedy Drive, informed City Council of the damage, to her <br />home and others in the neighborhood, caused by flooding from Paradise Creek and <br />ditches during the November nor'easter. <br /> <br />4. Paul Landers, 402 Cabot Street, voiced his concern with the change in code <br />inspector in his neighborhood and asked that the current inspector continue to <br />service his neighborhood. <br /> <br />5. Reggie Allen, 1421 Wilcox Avenue, voiced his concern with the change in code <br />inspector in his neighborhood and asked that the current inspector continue to <br />service his neighborhood. <br /> <br />6. Larry Gump, 3502 Hartford Street, asked that City Council look into what he believes <br />are intimidation tactics from the Sheriffs Department. <br /> <br />7. Fred Sanborn, 220 North Street, voiced his concern with the change in code <br />inspector in his neighborhood and asked that the current inspector continue to <br />service his neighborhood. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 9:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br /> <br />Anita .
