November 13, 1989 13, At a called meeting of the City Council held on November 1989, there were present: Mayor Glcria O. Webb~ Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., j. Robert.G~ay, James C. Hawks, L. Louise Lucas J. Herber~ Simpson, Georg~e L. Hanbur.y, II, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney General Assembly Delegation: Senator John S. Joannou, Delegate~Kenneth R. Melvin, Delegate.William S. Moore, Jr. held 801 Crawfcrd Street, for the purpose of a Assembly Delegation. 89-435 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a called meeting of the City Council to be in the Council Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 1989, Public work Session with our General In addition you Executive Session. may consider a motion to go into an By order of the Mayor." The following was discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. 1990 Legislative Proposal 89-436 - Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to go into Executive~ Session pursuant tQ the provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss: (1) Consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members pertaining to legal matters involving: (a) Group housing application for South Street and Dinwiddie Street; (b) Churchland High School rezoning; all as permitted under Subsection (a) (7). On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr.Barnes, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive meeting was convened, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City we heard, Council.
