November 14, 1989 The City Treasurer is requesting the following refunds (without interest) for Personal Property Taxes that were erroneously paid: As listed above The Commissioner of Revenue is requesting the f.ollowing refunds (without interest) for Business License Taxes that were paid erroneously: As listed above I recommend that City Council adopt this motion and the refunds be granted." Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the refunds be granted as requested, and was adopted by,unanimous vote. NEW BUSINESS 89-450 Councilman Simpson offered the following nominations to the following Boards/Commissions: Cable Television Commission Claude Parent was appointed to serve as an ex-officio member replacing A. B. Niemeyer, Jr. Emergency Medical Service Advisory Commission Dr. Robert Knapp was appointed to fill an unexpired term, ending July 30, 1990; replacing Dr. Vasken Tenekjian. Law Library Board Martin Bullock, was reappointed to a term of three years, ending November 1, 1992. Museum and Fine Arts Commission Lawrence G. Anderson, Spurgeon T. Carey, Jr., Sara G. Comer, David B. Stuart, was reappointed to a term of three years, ending November 1, 1992. Portsmouth Redevelopment Housing Authority Martin Bullock, was appointed to a term of four years, ending September 1, 1993, replacing John G. Hatcher, Jr. Transportation Safety Commission Sidney J. Duck, III, Bryant K. Rowley, J. Herbert Simpson, reappointed to a term of three years, ending November 1, 1992. Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to~etose nominations, and there being no further nominations, the above members were elected to the designated Boards/Commissions, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
