November 14, 1989 <br /> <br /> The City Treasurer is requesting the following refunds <br />(without interest) for Personal Property Taxes that were <br />erroneously paid: <br /> <br />As listed above <br /> <br /> The Commissioner of Revenue is requesting the f.ollowing <br />refunds (without interest) for Business License Taxes that were <br />paid erroneously: <br /> <br />As listed above <br /> <br /> I recommend that City Council adopt this motion and the <br />refunds be granted." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the <br />refunds be granted as requested, and was adopted by,unanimous <br />vote. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 89-450 Councilman Simpson offered the following <br />nominations to the following Boards/Commissions: <br /> <br />Cable Television Commission <br /> <br /> Claude Parent was appointed to serve as an ex-officio <br />member replacing A. B. Niemeyer, Jr. <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Service Advisory Commission <br /> <br /> Dr. Robert Knapp was appointed to fill an unexpired term, <br />ending July 30, 1990; replacing Dr. Vasken Tenekjian. <br /> <br />Law Library Board <br /> <br /> Martin Bullock, was reappointed to a term of three years, <br />ending November 1, 1992. <br /> <br /> Museum and Fine Arts Commission <br /> <br /> Lawrence G. Anderson, Spurgeon T. Carey, Jr., Sara G. <br />Comer, David B. Stuart, was reappointed to a term of three <br />years, ending November 1, 1992. <br /> <br /> Portsmouth Redevelopment Housing Authority <br /> <br /> Martin Bullock, was appointed to a term of four years, <br />ending September 1, 1993, replacing John G. Hatcher, Jr. <br /> <br /> Transportation Safety Commission <br /> <br /> Sidney J. Duck, III, Bryant K. Rowley, J. Herbert Simpson, <br />reappointed to a term of three years, ending November 1, 1992. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to~etose <br />nominations, and there being no further nominations, the above <br />members were elected to the designated Boards/Commissions, and <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
