At
my request, Thomas F. O'Kane, former Director of Public Works,
met with Mrs. Currie to discuss details of street and drainage
problems. Following this meeting Mr. O'Kane proposed using City
forces to initiate the replacement of deteriorated curbs and
gutters. With the initiation of the project, it was found that
the sewer infrastructure had failed and the scope of theproject
had to be expanded to replace~not only curbs and gutters, but to
include sewer and street improvements as well. Attached ~s a
listing of recommended funding sources.

Bids were received on February 15, 1990.
