iAPril 10, 1990 <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Thaddeus <br />Lawrence, Richard Todd, James Vick and Lester Harrington be <br />appointed viewers and that James Griffin and William Choate, be <br />appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding <br />viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion to such street and to report to <br />this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and~closing <br />the following: <br /> <br />That certain portion of land located between <br />lot numbered four, and lot numbered 1 as shown <br />on the plat Of "Green Acres" which plat is <br />duly recorded in the Clerk's Office of the <br />Circuit Court of the City of-Chesapeake, <br />Virginia~ in map book 22 at page 1. Said <br />portion of land being approximately 40' wide <br />and formerly known as Manchester Road. The <br />street ends approximately 60" into the Elizabeth <br />River in the City of Portsmouth." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Hawks, Lucas, Simpson, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 90-138 - Letter from the Interim City Manager recommending <br />adoption of a resolution establishing a schedule for <br />consideration by the City Council of the 1990-91 operating <br />budget, the imposition and levying of taxes and fees for the <br />purpose of raising revenue for the support of governmental <br />operations and the public schools. <br /> <br /> "As you are aware, I will be submitting my budget <br />recommendation to you at a Work Session on Tuesday, April 17, <br />1990 at 5:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers. Subsequent <br />meetings will be necessary for the Council to review and <br />consider the budget. Therefore, I am recommending that the <br />City Council adopt a resolution to set the dates and times of <br />these meetings. The attached resolution includes the following <br />suggested schedule: <br /> <br /> April 17, 1990, Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. - Budget Work Session <br /> April 24, 1990, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. - Public Hearing on <br /> Annual Budget and Tax Rates <br /> May 2, 1990, Wednesday, 5:00 p,.m, - Budget Work Session <br /> May 8, 1990, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. - First Reading on Annual <br /> Budget and related ordinances at regularly scheduled <br /> Council meeting. <br /> May 15, 1990, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. - Final Reading on Annual <br /> Budget and related ordinances. <br /> <br /> All of the above meeting's will be held in the City <br />Council Chambers/Conference Room. I recommend the adoption of <br />the attached resolution." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes the <br />following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE FOR CONSIDERATION BY <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 1990-91 OPERATING BUDGET, AND THE <br /> IMPOSITION AND LEVYING OF TAXES AND FEES FOR THE PURPOSE <br /> OF RAISING REVENUE FOR THE SUPPORT OF GOVERNMENTAL <br /> OPERATIONS AND THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> <br />
