194 <br /> <br />April 24, 1990 <br /> <br />been cut based on the savings realized from last year's freeze. <br />The School Board has informed us that they expect a shortfall in <br />revenue this year of $1.2 million. Our best estimate at this <br />time of the anticipated net shortfall and resulting utilization <br />of fund balance for this fiscal year is $1.5 million." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to accept <br />the report as submitted, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />90-157 Letter from the Interim City Manager recommending <br />adoption of a motion for the City Treasurer and the Director of <br />Finance to~efund the following (without~interest): <br /> <br />Real Estate Taxes <br /> <br /> 119.27 to Azalea Realty & Development Corp. <br /> 395.00 to Cooper & Davis <br /> 19~57 to Glasser & Glasser <br /> 44.46 to Jefferson B. Brown <br /> 84.36 to Moore & Waddell <br />208.98 to Tuthill & Stromberg <br /> <br /> "The City Treasurer is requesting the following refund <br />without interest) for Real Estate Taxes paid erroneously: <br /> <br />As listed above. <br /> <br /> I recommend that City Council adopt this motion ahd the <br />refunds be granted." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Simpson, the above <br />refunds be issued, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS - <br /> <br />90-159 Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street, representing the <br />Highland-Biltmore Civic League, spoke on Biltmore Commons <br />requesting fencing on the property to protect children living in <br />the project from the wetlands area. Also noted that there was <br />an agreement that no subsidized tenants would be permitted, but <br />that Section VIII tenants are in residence. Interim City <br />Manager Orton will investigate. <br /> <br /> Mr. Watson also distributed some campaign literature he <br />had received and the City Attorney was asked to provide Council <br />with a report on same. <br /> <br />90-160 Martha B. Davis, 905 High Street, spoke concerning <br />nuisances behind her shop at 905 H.igh Street. Interim City <br />Manager Orton will arrange a meeting with Ms. Davis to discuss <br />her problems. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned at <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />9:31 p.m. <br /> <br />ity Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
