~pril,f4,~t990 Anne McGlynn is hereby granted a use permit pursuant to ~40'!02,2 (B) (1) of the COde of the CitY of PortSmouth, Virginia, 1988',ifor~the operation of a bed and breakfast inn 0n property located at 222 N0r~h~St~ee~ ~and bein~m6~e partiCulariy described as: ,- UP.90~5 Beginning on the north right-of-way of North Street at a point 50' east from the east right-of- way of Middle Street; thence north 200'+ to a point; thence East 47'+ to a point; thence south 200'+ to the north rightlof-way of North-Street; thence-- west along said right-of-way 47'~ to the point of beginning. The use permit is approved subject to the following conditions: (a) The bed and breakfast inn must be operated in accordance with the Special Regulations of Section 40-102.2 (C) of the Zoning Ordinance. (b) The applicant shal~ comply with all other applicable codes, ordinances, policies, an~ regulations of federal, state and local governments, and shall obtain all necessary licenses and permits. (c) The use permit is isBued to Anne McGlynn and is not transferable to any other individual, entity, or organization." Ayes: Barnes, Gray, Hawks, Lucas, Simpson, Webb Nays: Corprew 90-134 Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gary, adopt the ordinance approved on first reading at the regular meeting of April 10, 1990. to Substitute motion of Mr. Gray, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to approve section 35-416 of the ordinance and to defer until the meeting of May 8, 1990, section 35-417 for further study~, and was adopted by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND T~E CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 35-416 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO TAXATION." REPORTS FROM THE CITY MANAGER - 90-152 Letter from the Interim City Manager recommending adoption of an ordinance to close several alleys between Alden Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue. "The City of Portsmouth has made application to close several alleys between Alden Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue. The viewers previously appointed by City Counci'l have recommended approval of this application. The Planning Commission concurs in this recommendation. I recommend adoption of the ordinance closing several alleys between Alden Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue."
