188 <br /> <br />April 24, 1990 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Raymond W. and Tilda Sorenso~ have made <br />application pursuant to Section 40-71(b) of the Code of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, to operate a wholesale warehouse <br />at 2410 Rodman Avenue; and <br /> <br /> W-~EREAS, the applicants and the Planning Director have <br />done all things required to be done in connection of said <br />application; ann ~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the <br />granting of said use permit with conditions'. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of ~he City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter <br />described is sought: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />will not' adversely affect the health and safety <br />of persons residing ~nd working in the <br />neighborhood of the proposed use; <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Will not be detrimental to the public use or <br />injurious to the property and improvements in <br />the neighborhood; and <br /> <br />(c) will be in accordance with the purposes of the <br /> Zoning Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br />That Raymond W. and Tilda Sorenson are hereby <br />granted a use permit pursuant to Section 40-71(b) of <br />the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, to <br />operate a wholesale warehouse at 2410 Rodman Avenue, <br />such site being more particularly described as <br />follows: <br /> <br />UP-90~4 <br /> <br /> Beginning on the west right-of-way of <br /> Rodman Avenue at a point 391.60' south from <br /> its intersection with Turnpike Road; thence <br /> West 195'+ to a point; thence south 33.26' to <br /> the north--~ight-of-way of the DanVille and <br /> Western Railroad; thence east a:long said <br /> right-of-way 188.71' to ~h~ West right-of-way · <br /> of Rodman Avenue; thence north along said <br /> right-0f~way:50' tO the POint of begihning~ <br />3.' Th~ USe PerMit is ~pproved S~ubject to the following <br /> ~onditi~ns: <br /> <br /> (a) The applicants shall er'e~t a wooden privacy <br /> fence, at least six feet in height, along the <br /> entire length of the site's rear property line. <br /> <br /> (b) The applicants shall designate five paved, <br /> ~n-site parking SpaceS for parking or back-up <br /> space. None of the designated spaces Shall be <br /> in the Rodman Avenue right-of-way, <br /> <br /> ('c) On'site outdoor storage is prohibited. <br /> <br /> (d) Deliveries to the site b~; trucks longer than <br /> forty (40) feet are prohibited. <br /> <br />(e) The applicants shalI comply with all applicable <br /> codes, ordinances, policies and regulations of <br /> federal, state, and:Iocal governments and shall <br /> obtain all necessa.ry licenses and permits." <br /> <br /> <br />
