September 26, 2000 ~ 2 '~ 3 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on TUesday, September 26, 2000, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />MayOr James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D.- Griffin, Sr, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., <br />J. Thomas Benn I1~, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager <br />Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />00 - 229 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, <br />September 26, 2000, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />00 - 230 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Future Search Conference <br />2. Children's Museum Marketing Report <br /> <br />00 - 231 - Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss <br />or consider the following: <br /> <br /> the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as authorized by <br />subparagraph 3, with the subject property being ~n the midtown and Victory Boulevard/l- <br />264 areas of the City; and <br /> <br /> discussion of appointments to boards and commissions, as authorized by <br />subparagraph 1. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council MembeYs <br />knowledge during the rnmediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />I Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />~c or . ennir~g"[oh J/~ <br />Senior Deputy City Cleft,/ <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. W.
