"The:D989-90 Capital Improvement Pro~ram authorizes $175,000 f.~r ~the purchase of a new fire pumper. The new equipment'would replace an existing pumper acquired in 1964. Bids were~received from two vendors;, as follows: Fire Brand (Pierce) $195,464 Fire X $178,490 Negotiations with the low bidder were successful ~n reducing the purchase price to $174,990. The Fire Chief recommends purchase of this unit. I co~ur~witb'-the-Fire Chief,and, therefore, recommend that you appropriate $174,990 from the Capital Improvement Fund and authorize award of the contract to the low bidder." On m~ion of ~Ir.
