Holley III, Vice Mayor William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst Sr., <br />*Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psimas, *Douglas L. Smith, City <br />Manager Kenneth L. Chandler, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />09 - 243 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009 for the purpose of a <br />Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />09 - 244 - Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A), of the Code of Virginia, to discuss the <br />performance of specific public officers, appointees, or employees, as per subsection 1. <br /> <br />The subject matter of the meeting is personnel matters. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is to permit confidential discussion of this subject. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Psimas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Moody <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(0) <br />of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br />the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which the <br />Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting <br />by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Hereick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />09 - 245 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1.
