Clemons, John H. Epperson, <br />James C.' Hawks, Lee E. King, Lo Louise Lucas, V. Wayne <br />Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney <br /> <br />Absent: Vice May'or E. G. Corprew, Jr. <br /> <br />90-476 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Conference Room, 6th floor of City <br />Ball, 801 Crawford Street, Monday, December 10, 1990, at 4:45 <br />p.m., for purpose of a joint meeting with the General Assembly <br />Delegation and a Public Work Session.. <br /> <br /> In addition you may consider a motion to go i~to an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> The following items were discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Meeting with General Assembly Delegation <br /> <br /> 2. New Zoning Ordinance <br /> <br /> 3. Workforce Management Quarteriy Report <br /> <br /> 90-476(a) - On motion of Mr, HawKs and seconded by Mr. <br />Epperson, to go into Executive Session pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Consideration of the use of public property in the <br />Porte Centre Area of the City as permitted under Subsection (A) <br />(3)~ <br /> <br /> 2. Consultation with the City Attorney regarding two <br />items of potential litigation in which the City may be a <br />defendant as permitted under Subsection (A) (7); <br /> <br /> 3. Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council as permitted under SubseCtion <br />(a) (1). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Clemons, <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1L344.1 of the Code of <br />Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of <br />the City Council: <br /> <br />Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was <br />convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the <br />meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting re-convened at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mayor Ci~ C er~ <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Corprew arrived at~/'~'~. <br /> <br /> <br />
