Incentive Program& <br /> <br /> A) Resolutions supporting the Community Diversion <br /> Incentive Program. <br /> <br /> B) Ordinance to establish a Community Corrections <br /> Resources' Board. <br /> <br /> "At the request of Councilman Hawks, I directed staff to <br />research the possibility of the City participating in a <br />Community Diversion Incentive Program~ This program is funded <br />100% by the State and is administered by the DePartment of <br />CorrectionS. ThE program conSiStS Of intensive superviSion <br />and rehabilitation of non-violent felony offenders, and it <br />provides numerous benefits to the~'local, criminal justice <br />system. ~ ' ~ ~ ' ~ <br /> <br /> I concur with the recommendatiOn to support impleme~tation <br />of this program and have placed this item on your Public Work <br />SessiOn for d~gCussi6n., Attached is a 0opy of staff's report <br />for your review :and~consideratioh'. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, recommend adOption of the attached <br />resolution supporting the program~ I~ also recommend your <br />approval of an ordinance to establish a~Community Corrections <br />ResOurces Board." <br /> <br /> A) Motion of Mr. Clemons and seConded bY Mrl King, the <br />following resolution was adopted, and by the following Vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION- AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND <br /> DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMUNITY DIVERSION PROGRAM, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cormmonwealth of Virginia has enacted the <br />Community Diver§ion Incentive Act as set forth in the Code of <br />Virginia, 1950, as amended; and <br /> <br /> <br />
