In order foX'the condomfnium <br />construction to progress~fro~ its present~stage!ef~ COmpletion, <br />it is necessary for the City to installlthe~Storm~d~ainage <br />facilities on the City owned parcel between the condominium site <br />ahd!the Seawall. After completion, thls area will become an <br />extension of RiverfrOnt Park. <br /> <br /> On December 12, 1990 bids were received for the required ~ <br />storm drainage as tabulated on Attachment 1. The low bidder, <br />Utility Builders, Inc., is a Portsmouth firm who has <br />successfully completed several projects for the City in the <br />past. The total cost of the project is tabulated as follows: <br /> <br /> Utility Builders, Inc, (Construction ContraCt) $16,070.00 <br /> Contingencies ~ $ 2,500,00 <br /> Contract Administration and Inspection $ 3;500.00 <br /> <br />TOTAL ANTICIPATED PROJECT COST <br /> <br />$22,070.00 <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends that a contract be <br />awarded to the low bidder, Utility Builders, Inc.~ in the amount <br />of $16,070. Sufficient funds for completion of this work are <br />available from prior appropriatiOns· ~ ~ ~ <br /> <br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend award of the contract <br />to the low bidder; Utility Builders, Inc." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr, King~ to award <br />the contract for installation of necessary storm drainage <br />facilities on the parcel between Kings Crossing Condominium and <br />the Seawall to the iow bidder, Utility Builders, Inc., and was <br />adopted on first and final reading, and by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 91-36 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />of a motion authorizing the City Manager to sign an amendment to <br />the development agreement with Portsmouth Parkside Development <br />Associates. <br /> <br /> "Portsmouth Parkside Development Associates, the developer <br />of Crawford Square Condominiums, has requested from the <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority an amendment to <br />the Development Agreement among the City, the Authority, and the <br />Developer. This amendment would grant an extension in the time <br />allowed for construction of Phase II, due to a lack of sales of <br />Phase I units and current market conditions. The amended <br />agreement would require substantial Completion of the <br />condominiums on or before October 31, 1992. The Executive ' <br />Director of PRHA expects construction to begin by July 1, 1991. <br /> <br /> The Authority adopted a resolution approving the requested <br />extension. I recommend that you adopt a motion authorizing the <br />City Manager to sign the Fifth Amendment to the Development <br />Agreement with Portsmouth Parkside Development Associates." <br /> <br /> <br />
