FROM THE <br />PUBLIC UTILITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF RADIOS COMPATIBLE WITH THE CITYWIDE <br />SYSTEM.~ <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $232,000.00 FROM THE <br />PUBLIC UTILITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FUND TO FUND <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO THE WATER PLANT, WATER <br />DISTRIBUTION AND SEWAGE SYSTEMS." <br /> <br />Ayes: Corprew, Epperson, King, Hawks, <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Lucas, Webb <br /> <br />91-450 Code Amendment: <br /> <br /> (e) Motion of Mr. Epperson and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, <br />this item removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of <br />Mayor Webb, be deferred to the Regular Meeting of February 12, <br />1991, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />OTHER ITEMS UNDER UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Manager requested that Mr. Bob Creecy, <br />Services, brief Council on background <br />to this item. <br /> <br /> 91-18 The City <br />Director of Management <br />information pertaining <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. King, the <br />following resolution, deferred from the Regular Meeting of <br />January 8, 1991, be approved as amended by Alternative 5, and <br />was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY <br />PROPERTY FORMERLY KNOWN AS LITTLE JOHN ROAD TO THE INDUSTRIAL <br />DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is the owner of certain hereinafter <br />described real property known as Little John Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Little John Road was closed as a public way <br />of the City of Portsmouth by Ordinance of the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on August 27, <br />1985; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said property is no longer required for public <br />purposes and is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems it <br />to be in the best interest of the City for said property to be <br />developed and put to its best and highest use. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and hereby <br />is, authorized to convey the hereinafter-described property to <br />the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth, <br />to-wit: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />situate, lying and being in the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, it being a portion of <br />Little John Road, being more particularly <br />described as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
