<br />December 8. 2008 <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, December 8, 2008, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. <br />Psi mas, Charles B. Whitehurst Sr., City Manager Kenneth Chandler, City Attorney G. <br />Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />08 - 513 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2008 for the <br />purpose of a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />08 - 515 - Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A) of the Code of Virginia, to <br />discuss personnel matters involving individuals, identifiable employees as per <br />subsection 1, the disposition of publicly owned real estate, as per subsection 3, and <br />also matters requiring the advice of legal counsel, as per subsection 7. <br /> <br />The subjects of the meeting are: <br /> <br />personnel matters related to Southeast Service Authority <br /> <br />possible sale of real estate by SPSA, and possible sale of real estate <br />for the Crawford Point development project. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is to permit discussion of strategy and negotiating <br />position on these issues. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Psi mas, Randall, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psi mas, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.2- <br />3712(0) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Psi mas, Randall, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. <br />
