The grant will provide funding for
the plant~ing of trees on Cedar Lane and at the River Pointe
complex.

"The Virginia Department of Forestry is currently
accepting proposals for tree installation programs administered
by the U. S. Small Business Administration. If awarded to the
City, this grant will provide 55% of the cost of tree
installation along Cedar Lane and River Pointe which are areas
City staff have cited as the highest priority. The City is
responsible for providing funds in the amount of $29,000 while
the Small Business Administration will provide $35,000. I am
recommending that the City share of funding for this project
come from the Capital Improvement Program.
