July 23, ~991 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Frederick D. Hobby, Associate Administrator of <br />Portsmouth General Hospital, has made application pursuant to <br />Section 40-43.1 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1988, as~amended, for granting cf a use permit to <br />operate a'hes~it~ a~ 850 Crawferd Parkway, Portsmouth, <br /> <br />Virginia; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and <br />all things required to be done <br />application; and <br /> <br />the Planning Director have done <br />in connection with said <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the <br />granting of said use permit~ <br /> <br /> NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter <br />described is sought: <br /> <br />(a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety of persons <br />residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed use; <br /> <br />(b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or <br />the property or improvements in the neighborhood; <br /> <br />(c) Will be provided with sufficient landscaping <br />compatibility with surrounding uses; <br /> <br />(d) Will be a project that will be developed according to a <br />plan for parking, driveways, and curb cuts which will provide <br />for safe and convenient traffic movement; and <br /> <br />(e) Will be in accordance with the purposes of the Zoning <br />Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br />2. That Portsmouth General Hospital is hereby granted a use <br />permit pursuant to Section 40-43.1 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, to operate a hospital at 850 <br />Crawford Par~way,~said property being more particularly <br />described a's follows: '~ <br /> <br />injurious to <br />to insure <br /> <br /> UP-91-12 <br /> <br />Beginning at the northeast corner of Crawford Parkway and Fort <br />Lane; thence easterly along the north right-of-way of Crawford <br />Parkway 486.63' tO a point; thence norther.ly 191.65'; thence <br />easterly 173.01' to the west right-of-way of Effingham Street; <br />%hence ~O~h alan§ Safd right-of-way 193.52' to the property <br />line of ~h~ U~S'. Naval Hospital; ~hence westerly along sai~d <br />line 757.85' to' a point; thence south 25' to a point; thence <br />westerly 335' more or less to the east right-of-way line ~f <br />Parkview Avenue; thence south along said right-of-way 30' to a <br />point; thence east 60' more or less ~o a point; thence sOuth <br />240' to the north right-of-way line of LeCkie Street; thence <br />east ~16h~ safd ~i~ht'of-Way 270~' more or'less to the east <br />right-of-way line of Fort Lane; thence south along said <br />right-qf-~ay 257.39' to Crawford Parkway, the point of <br />beginnihg." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Clemens, Corprew, King, Hawks, Lucas, Webb <br /> Nays: None <br /> Abstaining: Epperson <br /> <br /> <br />
