Holley III, Vice Mayor Marlene W. Randall, William E. Moody, Jr., Stephen E. <br />Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Ray A. Smith, Sr., *Douglas L. Smith, City Manager Kenneth L. <br />Chandler, Senior Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson. <br /> <br />08 - 209 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2008 for the purpose of a <br />Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />08 - 210 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. FY 09 Operating Budget and CIP <br />Children's Museum Construction Phasing Plan - Kim Pruitt <br />Unexpende~ Capital Funds - Regan Gerlt <br /> <br />08 - 211 - Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A)(3) of the Code of Virginia to discuss acquisition of <br />real property for a public purpose and the sale of publicly owned real property. <br /> <br />The subject matter of the meeting is development of the former I. C. Norcom site on <br />Frederick Boulevard. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is to permit discussion of negotiating position and strategy. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. D. Smith, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(0) <br />of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br />the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Public Work Session continued: <br /> <br />2.
