Adequate funds to cover the <br />City's share of this cost are available from prior appropriations <br />for the pro3ect. <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends adoption of the <br />attached resolution to allow the State to purchase 5965 Churchland <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend adoption of the <br />resolution." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Williams to adopt the <br />resolution. <br /> <br /> Substitute motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. <br />Williams, to defer the item to the Regular Council Meeting of <br />March 24. 1992, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS - <br /> <br /> 92-80 - Mayor Webb brought to the attention of Council that <br />she was presented with a donation from the Richard Dale's Woman's <br />Club of Portsmouth of $10~000 for the New Childrens Museum. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. King, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to Section 2.1-344 of the Code of <br />Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (i) <br />property <br />of the Ci <br /> <br /> Discussion or con.sideration of the use of public <br />in the Cradock and Scott's Creek and Port Centre portions <br />ty as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (2) The investing of public funds where competition or <br />bargaining is involved, where if made public initially the <br />financial interests of the government unit would be adversely <br />affected~ as permitted under Subsection (A) (6); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On ~otion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. Williams, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying <br />that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open <br />meeting ~equlrements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, <br />and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in <br />the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, <br /> <br /> were heard, discussed'or considered in the meeting by the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mayor City Clerk <br /> <br />Absent Councilman John H.
