33_7 <br />December 11, 2000 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, December 11, 2000, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />*Mayor James W. Holley Ill, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr.. Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm Ill, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />00 - 303 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5;30 p.m., Monday, <br />December 11, 2000, for the purpose of a Closed Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />00 - 304 - Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst. to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss <br />or consider the following: <br /> <br />subsection 3, the acquisition or sale of realty for a public purpose; <br /> <br /> subsection 4, prospective bus~ness expansion or location, and also investing <br />public funds where competition or bargaining is involved; and <br /> <br /> subsection 5, a prospective business or industry or the expansion of an <br />existing business or industry which has not been previously announced. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared Ip~ <br /> <br />Victor H.
