40,0 <br /> <br />June 23, 1992 <br /> <br /> '~The 1992 General Assembly of Virginia enacted several <br />laws pertaining to motor vehicles enforced by our police <br />department. Since these requirements do not coincide with the <br />requirements presently listed in our City Code, an ordinance <br />change is necessary to comply with this new State law. The <br />proposed ordinance will change regulations dealing with the <br />operation of motor vehicles~and handicapped parking. <br /> <br /> I respectfully request and recommend your approval of this <br />ordinance." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks, seconded by Mr. Williams, the <br />following ordinance was adopted on first and final reading and <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 22-1, 22-2, <br />22-182(D), 22-348(A), 22-391, 22-392(10), 22-423, 22-426(A) AND <br />(B), AND 22-582(A) THEREOF, BY ENACTING SECTION 22-398.1 AND BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 22-144 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO MOTOR VEHICLES <br />AND TRAFFIC." <br /> <br />Ayes: Corprew, Epperson, Hawks, King, Williams, Webb <br />Nays: Clemons <br /> <br />92-212 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to amend Chapter 5 of the code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, by amending Section 5-61 thereof, <br />pertaining to penalties for bicycle ordinance violations. <br /> <br /> "The 1992 General Assembly of Virginia enacted several <br />laws pertaining to bicycles enforced by our police department. <br />Since these requirements do not coincide with the requirements <br />presently listed in our City Code, an ordinance change is <br />necessary to comply with this new State law. Since these requirements do not <br />coincide With the requirements presently listed in our City <br />Code, an ordinance change is necessary to comply with this new <br />State law. The proposed ordinance will change regulations <br />dealing with Bingo audits. <br /> <br /> I respectfully request and recommend your approval of this <br />ordinance." <br /> <br /> <br />
