<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
<br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Roy Leinart, Purvis Richardson,
<br />George EaSon, Gene Baldwin, and Carrie Byrum be appointed
<br />viewers and that Richard Wood and Lee Batts be appointed
<br />alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers
<br />fails to participate, said viewers to view the
<br />hereinafter-described portions of such~streets and to report to
<br />this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if
<br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing
<br />the following:
<br />
<br />Clifford Street, east of Effingham Street, to Green Street,
<br />south of Bart Street, and a service road connecting the two
<br />streets, otherwise known as that piece of real property
<br />described as follows~
<br />
<br />Beginning at the southwest corner of the intersection of Bart
<br />and Green Streets; thence S 3' 5' 12" E 44.14 feet along the
<br />west right-of-way of Green Street to a point; thence continuing
<br />along a service road the following distances to the north
<br />right-of-way of Clifford street: S 24- 4' 48" W 64.58', S 50-
<br />56' 30" W 183.74 feet, and S 2' 47' 30" W 5.00 feet; thence S
<br />86- 55' 19" W 179.40 feet along the north right-of-way of
<br />Clifford Street to the east right-of-way of Effingham Street;
<br />thence S. 3- 45' 12" E 60.00 feet to the south right-of-way of
<br />Clifford Street; thence N 86' 52' 13" E 171.54 feet ~ along
<br />said right-of-way to a point; thence continuing along a service
<br />road the following distances to the east right-of-way of Green
<br />Street: N 50'. 56' 30" E 269.24 feet ~ and N 24- 4' 48." E 61.31
<br />feet ~; thence N 3' 5' 12" E 58.79 fe~t + along the east
<br />right-of-way of Green Street to the sout~ right-of-way of Bart
<br />Street; thence S 86' 45' 48" W 60.00 feet to Green Street, the
<br />point of origin."

<br />92-240 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />a resolution changing the regularly scheduled City Council
<br />meeting of September 7, 1992 to September 8, 1992.
<br />
<br /> "Monday, September 7, 1992 is Labor Day and a holiday for
<br />City employees. Monday evening would be the regular public
<br />hearing on planning items for City Council. The attached
<br />resolution, however, reschedules the meeting of Monday,
<br />September 7, 1992 to Tuesday evening, September 8, 1992 to
<br />allow everyone the opportunity to observe this national
<br />holiday.
<br />
<br /> I, therefore, recommend your approval of the attached
<br />resolution."
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons, seconded of Mr. King, the following
<br />resolution was adopted on first and final reading and by the
<br />following vote:

<br /> "A SPECIAL RESOLUTION CHANGING THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED
<br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 7, 1992 TO SEPTEMBER 8, 1992.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Virginia, that its regularly scheduled Council meeting of
<br />September 7, 1992 is changed to September 8, 1992."
