July 28, 1992 <br /> <br /> "At your request, the City Attorney has reviewed our <br />current curfew ordinance and has made certain suggestions which <br />would clarify the status of a curfew in the city. Attached for <br />your consideration is an amendment to the City Code which <br />embodies the suggested changes. <br /> <br /> I therefore, recommended your approval of this <br />ordinance." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Epperson, seconded by Mr. <br />fcllowing ordinance was adopted on first and <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />King~the <br />finai reading and <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDED SECTION 24-8 THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO CURFEW FOR MINORS." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemens, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />92-255 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to amend Chapter 10 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginiaf 1988, by amending Section 10-108, thereof <br />pertaining to a voting place for Precinct 25. <br /> <br /> "The Portsmouth Christian Church notified the Electoral <br />Board that it is no longer available as a voting place for <br />Precinct No. 25. It then became necessary for the Electoral <br />Board to find another voting place in Precinct No. 25. The <br />Electoral Board has made arrangements with the Port Norfolk <br />Elementary School at 3101 Detroit Street, Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />for the facility to serve as the voting place for Precinct No. <br />25. <br /> <br /> As such, the City Attorney had prepared an amendment to <br />Section 10-108 of City Code, and I recommended that you adopt <br />this code change." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Epperson, seconded by Mr. King, the <br />following ordinance was adopted on first and final reading and <br />by the fOllowing vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 10 OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTION <br />10-108 PERTAINING TO A CHANGE OF VOTING PLACE FOR PRECINCT 25." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemens, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, ~Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />92-256 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a resolution expressing the concurrence of the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, with the inducement adopted by <br />the Industrial Development Authority of the County of Henrico, <br />Virginia, for the benefit of the Ben Secours Health Systems, <br />Inc. for the issuanc~ of Medical Facility Revenue Bonds. <br /> <br /> "Maryview Hospital, together with other health'care <br />hospitals in Virginia affiliated-with~Bon SecourslHealth <br />System, Inc., propose to issue a new bond issue through the <br />Industrial Development Authority of the County of Henrico. <br />This bond issue will be used to refund certain bonds issued for <br />these hospitals in 1985, to finance the construction of new <br />surgical and intensive care facilities connected with Maryview <br />Hospital, to purchase medical equipment, and to pay certain <br />expenses connected with the bond issuance. <br /> <br /> <br />
