<br />533 <br /> <br />AUQust 13. 2007 <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, August 13, 2007, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, William E. Moody, Jr., Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psimas, <br />Douglas L. Smith, Ray A. Smith, Sr., City Manager Kenneth L. Chandler, City Attorney G. <br />Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />07 - 338 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2007 for the purpose <br />of a Public Work Session. . <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />07 - 339 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Army Corps of Engineers - Dionysions Anninos, District Engineer, Norfolk District and <br />William A. Sorrentino, Jr., Chief, Technical Services Division, Norfolk District <br /> <br />2. Single Room Occupancy Facility - Fred Brusso <br /> <br />07 - 340 - Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. D. Smith, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A) of the Code of Virginia to consult with legal <br />counsel about specific legal matters requiring legal advice, as authorized by paragraph 7. <br /> <br />The subject matter shall be the proposed ethanol refinery in the City of Chesapeake. <br /> <br />The purpose shall be to permit confidential discussion of negotiating position and <br />strategy. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(D) of <br />the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br />the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2.
