<br /> <br />501 <br /> <br />June 26. 2007 <br /> <br />07 - 289 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />~ Mr. Moody asked that staff take another look at the issue of directional signs in <br />Old Towne and the downtown areas. <br /> <br />~ Ms. Psimas informed citizens and Council that the Urban Design committee was <br />working to solve the issue of signage in not only the downtown area but in the <br />entire City and that a report was forthcoming. <br /> <br />~ Mr. D. Smith reminded citizens of the Joint Meeting between Portsmouth and <br />Chesapeake City Council's, 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the <br />Chesapeake Conference Center. <br /> <br />~ Mayor Holley appointed Councilman D. Smith and Councilman Moody as <br />liaisons, and also Councilman Heretick as an alternate, to the RFP process in <br />renewing the next long term lease of the Suffolk golf course to be in place by <br />January 2008. Also Councilwoman Psimas and Councilman R. Smith were <br />appointed liaisons to the issue regarding the Crab Shack. <br /> <br />07 - 290 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Deputy City Manager Patton gave a report on what has been implemented to <br />help those that are homeless in Portsmouth. <br /> <br />~ Mr. D. Smith asked that staff look at the compensation program for public safety <br />employees in Portsmouth. <br /> <br />07 - 291 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, expressed his concern with the initial <br />draft of the Holiday Inn site. <br /> <br />2. Sheriff Watson, 701 Crawford Street, wanted to clear up accusations made against <br />the Sheriff's Department in a recent news article. <br /> <br />3. Clifford Kalmbach. 3702 Magnolia Drive, voiced his concern regarding various issues <br />in the city. <br /> <br />4. Lee Cherry, 1108 McLean Drive, wanted to clear up accusations made against the <br />Sheriffs Department in a recent news article. <br /> <br />5.
