Webb, Vice ~ayor Lee E~ King, <br /> Johnny M. Clemens,~ Bernard D. C~riffi~, Sr., <br /> James ~C~ Ha~ks, John H. Epperson, Cameron C. l~itts, <br /> V. Wayne Orion, City Manager, Stuart ~E. Katz, City <br /> Attorney.~ <br /> <br />Council held on Monday, <br /> <br />93-01 - The <br /> <br />following Call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held on Monday, January 11, 1993 at 5:00 p.m. in the City <br />Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, <br />for the purpose iof a public Work session. <br /> <br /> In addition you may consider a motion to go into an <br />executive session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 93-02 - The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br /> V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, briefed Council on the <br />status of the new Norcom High School. <br /> <br /> will Jones, Planning Director, reported on the location of <br />churches within the City. <br /> <br /> Richard Hartman, City Engineer, presented the plans for <br />the development of Columbia Commons. <br /> <br /> 93-03 - Motion of Mr. Epperson and seconded by Mr. King, <br />to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) <br />downtown <br />(3); <br /> <br />Consideration of the use of public property in the <br />portion of the City as permitted under Subsection (A) <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff pertaining to the City Retirement Code, and two matters <br />of probable litigation regarding the.~ABEX m~atter and the police <br />department entry level positions, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A)'(7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Epperson and seconded by Mr. King, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive. Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act~ and <br /> <br /> <br />
