King, Johnny M. <br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C~ <br />Hawks*, Cameron C. Pitts, Roy W. Cherry, Deputy City Manager, <br />George M. wil~, Deputy city Attorney. <br /> <br /> 93-26 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "P16a~e attend a Called Meetfng of ~he City Council to be <br />held in the Ci~y~Council'Chamber, ~6th floo{ ~f~City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford str~t,~at 5~:~00~ p.m., Tuesd~y~ January 26, 1993, for <br />the purpos~of~'~'~P~bt~i~ Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addit~n~'y~ may Con~idef~a moti0~~ ~ go~int~o an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 93-27 -The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />Agenda Item 92-412 (d) - Conversion Amendment to <br />Chapter 40. <br /> <br />Senate Bill NO. 537 to amend and re-enact Section <br />58.1-3211 of the Code of Virginia relating to income <br />and net worth limitations for property tax relief for <br />the elderly and the handicapped. <br /> <br />Appointing viewers for closing a portion of Coast <br />Guard Boulevard. <br /> <br />Establishment of an agenda item for speakers on <br />Washington Park/ABEX Superfund site. <br /> <br /> 93-28 Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. King to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards <br />Commissions by the City Council as permitted under <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br />and <br />Subsection <br /> <br /> (2) Consideration of personnel matters concerning the <br />Delinquent Tax Collector and re-organization and reassignments <br />of the City Manager's staff as permitted under Subsection (A) <br />(1); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with <br />staff pertaining to a matter <br />the ABEX matter as permitted <br /> <br />the City Attorney and briefing by <br />of probable litigation regarding <br />under Subsection (A) (7); <br /> <br /> (4) Consideration of <br />property for public purpose <br />permitted under Subsection <br /> <br /> the acquisition or use of real <br />in the southern part of the City as <br />(a) (3). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. Epperson, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying <br />that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia F~eedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
