Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Ms. Randall offered the following nomination: <br /> <br />SOUTHEASTERN PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY-SPSA <br /> <br />John B. Maher to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending June 30,2007, replacing <br />James B. Oliver, Jr. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, to close nominations, and <br />the above nomination were adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />07 - 99 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Mr. D. Smith, as a member of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, <br />gave an update on the transportation bill passed by the General Assembly. <br /> <br />'" Ms. Randall announced the upcoming Mayor's Ball, Saturday, March 31, 2007 at <br />the Portsmouth Renaissance Hotel. <br /> <br />'" Mr. R. Smith informed Council and citizens of a series of meetings being held by <br />the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA). <br /> <br />'" Mr. Moody informed Council and staff of the absence of South Fairview Heights <br />as part of the drainage study featured in the Virginian Pilot earlier in the week. <br /> <br />07 - 100 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no items. <br /> <br />07 - 101 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Kathleen Carlson, 116 Chowan Drive, spoke of the disadvantages of technology. <br /> <br />2. Scott Agee, 4317 Bart Street, spoke on the disparity in the Portsmouth Police <br />Department salaries in comparison to the other cities in Hampton Roads. <br /> <br />3. Gordon Shelton, 10 Crawford Parkway, brought to Council's attention what he <br />believes are inaccurate statements made during the Boat Tax presentation earlier in <br />the evening. <br />
