Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />07 - 27 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Ms. Randall informed citizens of the upcoming Community meetings dates. The <br />first meeting will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at Churchland <br />Elementary School, the second on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at Cradock <br />Middle School, and the third on Tuesday, September 18, 7:00 p.m. at I. C. <br />Norcom High School. <br /> <br />07 - 28 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />07 - 29 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Michael Perkins, 1901 Parker Avenue, asked for help in building a house on a lot <br />that is less than 50 feet. <br /> <br />2. Sara Wilson, 459 Douglas Avenue, wanted Council to know that the African <br />American Historical Society was aware of the financial responsibility it would incur <br />once the Portsmouth Community Library was moved. She also provided Council <br />with a list of repairs and the associated costs. <br /> <br />3. Camille Bowman, 14415 Old Courthouse Way, Newport News, offered help In <br />historical preservation in the City. <br /> <br />4. Reverend E. M. Woodard, 1516 Atlanta Avenue, informed Council of the importance <br />of preserving the Portsmouth Community Library. <br /> <br />5. John Lifsey, 229 Mount Vernon Avenue, asked that street sweeping be increased in <br />the Port Norfolk neighborhood and also asked that parking violations be enforced by <br />the City. <br /> <br />6. Frank Harte, 3403 Dogwood Drive, received an update on the sound barrier at 1-164. <br /> <br />7. Martha Ann Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, voiced her concern with various issues <br />within the City. <br /> <br />8. Dwight Dixon, 3971 Elm Avenue, thanked Council for endorsing a plan that will <br />improve and benefit the City at the Allied Site. <br /> <br />9. Mae Breckenridge Haywood, 3704 Greenwood Drive, thanked Council for their <br />commitment to moving and renovating the Portsmouth Community Library. <br /> <br />'" City Manager Oliver informed citizens of the process involved in the brand, <br />"Hampton Roads, America's First Region." <br />
