This fee has increased over the years to a
proposed fee of $32.50 per ton for fiscal year 1994. This
represents a 171% increase when compared to the original fee of
$12.00 charged in 1984. The 1994 tipping fee proposed by SPSA
will increase our disposal costs by an additional $129,000 per
year. This increased cost is due primarily to expansion of the
curbside recycling program, stricter mandates which regulate
landfills, and other related waste management issues.
