Katz. -~ ~¢ ,~ ~ <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor King opened the meeting with prayer which was <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br /> The.Mayor called the meeting~to order and welcomed ait in <br />attendance. ~ '~ i ~ <br /> 93-174 - Public Hearing on use permit and group housing <br />project applications: <br /> <br /> (a) UP-93-03 Cavalier Manor Neighborhood - Use permit <br /> application of Sandra O. Pinnock for a <br /> child day care center at 1220 Cavalier <br /> BOulevard and further described as. Tax' <br /> Map 548, Parcel 37. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. King and seConded by Mr. Pitts, to concur <br />with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that UP-93-03 <br />be approved. The motion was approved on first reading by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br />(b) GHP-93~01 ~ <br /> <br />North Churchland Neighborhood - Group <br />housing project application of Newman <br />Associates for 80 apartment units, to be <br />known as Westwinds III, on property <br />located on the..south :side of Gateway;~ ~ <br />Drive and lying east of the eXisting <br />Westwinds Apartments and further <br />described as Tax Map 846, a portion of <br />Parcel 3.4. <br /> <br /> The following residents spoke in opposition to the <br />application and requested additional conditions to the permit if <br />approved by Council: <br /> <br /> Mr. Paige D. Cherry, 3521 Gateway Drive, representing the <br />Willow Breeze Community League. <br /> Mr. Jeff Polar, 3509 Gateway Drive. <br /> Ms. Charlotte Horn, 3508 Gateway Drive. <br /> Ms. Nancy Hammond, 3420 Gateway Drive. <br /> Ms. Tracy Young, 3409 Gateway Drive. <br /> Mr. James Gates, 3441 Gateway Drive. <br /> Ms. Denise Suchsland, 3428 Gateway Drive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Greg Dodd, Borton and Dodd, representing the developer <br />of the project, spoke and advised that the developer would try <br />to work with the conditions that Council may place on the <br />project. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor King requested that the City Manager have <br />police radar stationed in the Willow Breeze neighborhood to <br />monitor the traffic problems stated by the citizens. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Clemens, to Concur <br />with the recommendations of the Planning Commission that <br />GHP-93-01 be approved on first reading with the additional <br />conditions that Gateway Drive be made into a cut-de-sac on both <br />sides with a breakaway emergency barrier for emergency <br />equipment, at no expense to the City, and a solid privacy <br />barrier on the project side of the ditch be installed and <br />maintained by the applicant. <br /> <br /> <br />
