<br />October 10. 2006 <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Marlene W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Ray <br />A. Smith, Sr., Douglas L. Smith, City Manager James B. Oliver, Jr., City Attorney G. <br />Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />06 - 469 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council <br />Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2006 for the purpose <br />of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />06 - 470 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. CAR Appeal Discussion <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. R. Smith, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, to postpone <br />consideration of the Commission of Architectural Review (Olde Towne, Cradock, and <br />Truxton) denial to retain replacement windows, at 30 Hobson Street and 70 Alywin <br />Road, indefinitely, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Psimas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />2. Proposed Boat Tax Study - Lance Wolff <br /> <br />3. Inspections Update - John Rowe <br />Travelers Inn Inspection <br />703 High Street Demolition for 10/13/06 <br /> <br />4. Neighborhood and Community Transformation Update - Dr. Lydia Patton <br />Implementation of Chapter 16 <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development Action Plan <br />Homeless Program <br />Community Programs <br /> <br />5. Development Update - John Rowe <br />Downtown Shuttle Service Update <br />Mayor James W. Holley named Councilman William E. Moody liaison to the <br />Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee. <br />Status of Roundabout <br />Status report on Court's Complex <br /> <br />6. Covanta - John Maher <br /> <br />7. Review of City Manager's Report - Dr. Lydia Patton <br /> <br />8. City Council Liaison Reports <br />Councilwoman Psimas, as liaison to the Light Duty Committee along with <br />Councilman Heretick, gave a report on the progress of the committee. <br />
