<br />136 <br /> <br />June 30. 2006 <br /> <br />I <br />'I <br />I <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Friday, June 30, 2006, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. <br />Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Ray A. Smith, Sr., Douglas L. Smith, City Manager <br />James B. Oliver, Jr., City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />06 - 299 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2006, for the <br />purpose of a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />06 - 300 - Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A)(1) of the Code of Virginia, to <br />discuss the performance of public officials and appointments by Council. <br /> <br />The subject matter of the meeting is to discuss performance and appointment. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is to permit confidential discussion of these subjects. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Mayor Holley called the Reorganization Meeting to order and welcomed all in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />06 - 301 - Election of Vice Mayor. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to nominate Ms. Marlene <br />W. Randall as Vice Mayor, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 5:43 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Anita Y.
