120 June 19. 2006 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, June 19, 2006, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Ray A. Smith, Sr., City Manager James B. Oliver, Jr., City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. 06 - 268 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2006 for the purpose of a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 06 - 270 - Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia,: subsection 7 for consultation with legal counsel and staff pertaining to litigation, and also consultation with legal counsel regarding specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice. The subject matter of the meeting is litigation involving Friendship Temple, also known as the Garden of Prayer. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss legal strategy toward concluding this litigation. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Randall, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(0) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
