JanuaryS241994 At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, January 24, 1994, there werepresent: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager. Johnny M. Cameron C. Absent: Councilman James C. Hawks 94-20 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Pleas~ attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the Briefing Center, on the corner of High and Crawford Street, on the 3rd floor at 5:00 p.m. on Monday~ January 24, 1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Epperson to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion and consideration of the performance of appointees of the City Council a permitted under subsection (A) (1). the The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion of Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. King pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Sessmon was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
