<br />April 11. 2005 <br /> <br />257 <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, April 11 , 2005, there were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., <br />'Marlene W. Randall, 'Elizabeth M. Psimas, Ray A. Smith, Sr. <br /> <br />Appointees present: <br /> <br />- Debra Y. White, City Clerk <br />Alethia C. Bryce, City Assessor <br />G. Timothy Oksman, City attorney <br /> <br />05 - 155 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6'h Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6'h floor, 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2005 for the <br />purpose of appointee evaluations. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />05 - 156 - Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A)(1) the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider <br />the following: <br /> <br />personnel matters. <br /> <br />The subject matter of the meeting includes the performance of individual public <br />officials of the City. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is to permit confidential discussion of personnel matters. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Randall, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(0) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements <br />by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2.
